Latest Updates from Our Project:

Production Begins!
about 4 years ago – Thu, Apr 09, 2020 at 12:03:08 AM

We did it! Thanks to you, and all of our wonderful backers, we're now able to roll into the production phase. Payment has been sent to the manufacturer, who will now begin the process of turning raw steel and titanium into finished Prylobites.  Blades will be waterjet cut from s35vn steel, heat treated, machined, ground, beadblasted, stonewashed, laser marked, and sharpened. Handles will be CNC machined from grade 5 titanium billet, beadblasted, and stonewashed. Screws, pivots, and backspacers will be turned from steel, and everything will finally be assembled.

The production timeline remains unchanged, and we still estimate shipping in August. We will attempt to get some behind-the-scenes photos of production, and try to update everyone approximately once a month (even if its simply a brief "still on track" update).

Thanks again to each and every one of you for helping the Titanium Prylobite come to life!

Brief update!
about 4 years ago – Wed, Mar 25, 2020 at 08:53:30 AM

I'll spare everyone the "we're closely monitoring the situation" report you're no doubt tired of reading, but as we've had a few backers ask how the coronavirus may affect the production schedule, I wanted to keep everyone informed on our production timeline estimate. We've spoken with our manufacturing source, and their current production estimations remain comparable to our original timeline. Fortunately, our design benefits from having a very short supply chain. Unlike a more complex product that may be held up due to lack of a single small but necessary part, the components of this knife are made in one  place. Blade, handles, and even screws are machined from their inventory  of material. We'd also built a buffer into our timeline to account for unexpected delays, as we always do. We remain confident with our production source, who is very experienced and respected when it comes to their knowledge and ability to produce well made knives. I dare say our G10 Prylobites have been the smoothest running production we've yet experienced, and look forward to the batch of Titanium Prylobites following on its heels!

I hope that each and every one of you is weathering this storm as best you are able, and I thank you all for your continued support of my company and this project. Stay the course, and this too shall pass.

Oh, and wash your hands.

First Stretch Goal Announced!
about 4 years ago – Thu, Mar 19, 2020 at 06:08:19 PM

Thank you all so much! We reached our funding goal within a few hours of launch, thanks to an incredible turnout of backers both old and new! Our first stretch goal will be unlocked at $20k of funding, at which point all Prylobites will be shipped with a Nite-Ize s-biner!

So please be sure to share the project across your social media and engage our posts on our Instagram page @pangeadesigns to help spread the word! These things are all crucial for making sure our project gets the visibility needed to be put in front of potentially new backers (which means more unlocked stretch goals for current backers!). So pop over to our IG page @pangeadesigns, give us a follow, hit that like button, and comment on those posts! We always love to hear from you.
